About Us

Geoff Bergen (Host & More)

Geoff is a Technology & Engineering Education educator in Brookfield, CT.  He is currently in his twelfth year of teaching;  split between high school (first five) and middle school (currently).  He graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 2000.

Geoff loves all things science (from fossils to space) building and riding hollow wooden surfboards, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.  His parents instilled a great love for learning and put up with his constant questions and desire to explore. As a high school student, he found dinosaur tracks in his front yard. Later, he applied to be a NASA Educator Astronaut in 2004, but wasn’t selected.  He was a participant in the 2009 Northrop Grumman Weightless Flights of Discovery where his passion for space only grew.  He is currently a NASA Endeavor Fellow where he is honing his STEM education skills.

Rhett Youngberg (Producer & More)

Rhett is your average guy who loves science (and come on who doesn’t).  However, his greatest love is of technology!  So we here at Almost Rocket Science call him the “gadget guru.”

He will be focusing on just about anything tech related and maybe some surprises along the way (keep an out for his giveaways...hint, hint).  He has posted content on many technology related sites.  He will also being producing podcasts and other features here on the site.  He is the right-hand man here at Almost Rocket Science.
