Episode 10 - Dan Johns

Episode 10 finds us reaching across the pond to speak with Dan Johns, a lead engineer on the Bloodhound SSC project. This episode was a little delayed as we have been processing the results of Earth 360 flight. We hope it was worth the wait!

For those of you who haven't heard about Bloodhound SSC, it is one of the greatest adventures humans have undertaken in recent history. It is a challenge to break the land speed record and attempt to surpass 1,000 mph! That alone should be enough, but it gets even better. The ultimate goal is to inspire a whole new generation of young people to take up STEM careers and change our world! Find out how.

"Go to the shed and take something apart..."

How to go 1000 MPH

In an attempt to beat their own record the Bloodhound SSC team is building a car that will soon travel to over 1000 miles an hour. We were fortunate enough to talk to one of the engineers about the project, the full podcast is coming soon. In the meantime, here's a taste of what you can expect. Episode 9 - Dr. Anita Sengupta

Episode 9 finds us in Boston university talking to Dr. Anita Sengupta, an MSL engineer working on the EDL team.  This episode was unfortunately postponed due to hurricane Sandy, we hope the wait was worth it.

The world was tuned to NASA TV and other media outlets as NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab waited for word to see if they had successfully pulled off one of the most daring stunts ever attempted. The entire world stood silently, waiting on pins and needles as the "seven minutes of terror" passed. Then the words "Touchdown confirmed. We are safe on the surface of Mars!" sparked a celebration, not unlike that of a packed stadium erupting after a game winning touchdown is scored.
